Our Vision, Mission and Goals

K9 c.a.r.e.s. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Westminster, Colorado providing Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) and Animal-Assisted Activities (AAA) to individuals in the Denver Metro and outlying areas through client organizations such as police departments, courts, libraries, hospitals, family shelters and child advocacy organizations. K9 c.a.r.e.s. actively engages with local government organizations, nonprofit organizations and civic organizations within the Denver Metro area. Fees are not charged to individuals or organizations for direct services provided.

Our Vision

To be the standard of excellence expanding awareness of the positive effect canines have on humans and enhancing people’s lives by promoting the human-canine connection through canine-assisted therapy.

K9 c.a.r.e.s. provides individuals the unique opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives by volunteering with their four pawed best friends.

Our Mission

The mission of K9 c.a.r.e.s. is to offer canine-assisted therapy to promote healing and growth by providing advocacy and support through the human-canine connection.

Our Goals

Enhance the lives of people by promotion of the human-animal bond through animal-assisted advocacy.

Build and support AAT and AAA programs using specially trained dogs and their handlers.

Assist in providing emotional and moral support to victims.

Remove barriers that prevent involvement of animals in everyday life.

Expand and increase awareness of the positive affect animals can have on human health and development.

Demonstrate locally, statewide and nationally, the value of K9 C.A.R.E.S to criminal justice and law enforcement victim/witness services units.
